Within the framework of the latest edition of Marbella Design & Art fair, held from October 31 to November 10, 2024, the DOM3 association organized a round table to discuss the high-quality housing sector on the Costa del Sol and its implications for local and international design. The event, sponsored by Bonifacio Solís and held on November 5 at the Marbella Trade Fair and Congress Center, addressed topics of great relevance for the present and future of the local sector.
As sponsors and participants in the event, we witnessed firsthand the positive impact that international brands like Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana, FENDI Casa, Four Seasons, and Elie Saab are generating on the Costa del Sol with their branded residences. These projects stand out for their ability to attract investment and solidify the so-called “Golden Triangle” (the Marbella - Benahavís - Estepona axis) as a worldwide benchmark in luxury housing. However, the event also highlighted the extraordinary quality of local projects, which in many cases exceed international standards.
The debate led by DOM3 also addressed the current trend toward quality, innovation, and sustainability in high-end housing design. The introduction speech by Esperanza de Justo, Business Development Director at Colliers, underscored the growing importance of sustainability in the real estate market. Furthermore, the round table, moderated by Mónica Martínez, brought together key industry figures such as Miguel Manzanares, Ness Yammine, and Javier Nieto to analyze how technology and sustainability are transforming the sector and attracting new buyer profiles, particularly younger and more conscious audiences.
In our opinion, one of the most positive aspects of the event was the appreciation and gratitude for local talent. We are committed to supporting professionals in the region—marble workers, carpenters, cabinetmakers, and other artisans—who offer exceptional quality to the design and construction of homes on Costa del Sol. This level of excellence demonstrates that Marbella not only matches the quality of branded residences and major international brands, but often surpasses them.
As part of our commitment to the environment and innovation, we fully support the integration of sustainable technologies and materials into design, construction, and architecture. This trend not only responds to the demands of young and environmentally conscious buyers, but also ensures a positive impact on the local ecosystem and community. We are proud to have been part of a platform that drives and promotes this forward-thinking vision.
We extend our gratitude to DOM3 for the impeccable organization of this recent gathering, as well as to our fellow sponsors, including Aalto Exclusive Design, Construmarbel, and Heidi Gubbins Interior Design, for their contribution to its success. We are confident that our collaboration will continue to promote the growth and excellence of the housing sector on all Costa del Sol.
The legacy of the 2024 edition of Marbella Design & Art strengthens our community’s shared commitment to creativity, sustainability, and innovation in the housing sector. At Bonifacio Solís, we will continue to support initiatives that inspire and transform our vision of design and luxury.
Thank you all for being part of this enriching experience!
